Relax and Rejuvenate

Weekends are the best! I love the opportunity to catch up on housework, laundry, craft projects, and simply relaxing. Today my day started with a trip to the salon with my daughters. We really enjoy this time of pampering, it's great to spend time with my girls. And the salon was virtually empty so we had the place to ourselves. I sipped on my coffee while the massage chair hummed and vibrated on my back, not so relaxing but, then again I'm kind of weird with anyone touching my feet. We laughed and giggled as the ladies tickled our feet with the pumice stone. We're pretty much all very ticklish. In the end it's totally worth the discomfort of the whole scrub thing.

After the spa, we drove to the fabric store. I have been working on some fabric books for Rocky, one for his numbers and one for the alphabet. So I had cut out all these little animals, numbers, letters, and dots. This is gonna be cute! So I needed some more fusible webbing. I was able to complete the counting book today, maybe I'll get a chance to work on the alphabet book tomorrow. I love the feeling that I get when I have completed something. I always have these to-do lists going, and I love crossing things off - I'm seriously thinking of starting a bucket list.

We live very close to Japan Town so one of our annual traditions is to go to the Obon Festival. Since I have known Sam he has taken me to this festival, it is rich with culture and traditions. And the food...Oh my let me tell you about the food, my must have's at the Obon are: corn on the cob, teriyaki kabob, chicken salad, tempura, and the grand finale is always the strawberry shortcake. Although our children are grown they still enjoy the festival and food, plus it's just a block away. It's wonderful to now see our grandson going to the Obon, Samuel and Senia stopped by on their way home and there was Rocky in his stroller eating his own corn-on-the cob too cute! It's always the simple things in life that I value the most. Just to be here to enjoy my kids passing by our house is a blessing. They will never know how much joy they bring me.

Well I hope you have a blessed weekend, enjoy your family and friends and all the other blessings God has given you. Talk to you again on Monday because on Sunday...We Rest!
